The Heart of Islam: Enduring Values for Humanity
By Seyyed Hossein Nasr
As the specter of religious extremism has become a fact of life today, the temptation is great to allow the evil actions and perspectives of a minority to represent an entire tradition. In the case of Islam, there has been much recent confusion in the Western world centered on distorted portrayals of its core values. Born of ignorance, such confusion feeds the very problem at hand.
In The Heart of Islam, one of the great intellectual figures in Islamic history offers a timely presentation of the core spiritual and social values of Islam: peace, compassion, social justice, and respect for the other. Seizing this unique moment in history to reflect on the essence of his tradition, Seyyed Hossein Nasr seeks to “open a spiritual and intellectual space for mutual understanding.” Exploring Islamic values in scripture, traditional sources, and history, he also shows their clear counterparts in the Jewish and Christian traditions, revealing the common ground of the Abrahamic faiths.

Tuhfatul Banaat: An ideal gift for the young daughters of the Ummah
By
Allah Ta’ala has created the human being as ‘ASHRAFUL MAKHLOOQAAT’ (the best of His creation). Males and females have been created differently with their own unique physical and emotional characteristics and needs. All these are signs of His evident power and greatness. A female’s first haidh (period/menstruation) is actually a transition or crossing over for her from childhood to adulthood. It is an important time in her life, because along with this change comes huge responsibilities.
Apart from physical changes (which take place inside our bodies), we undergo emotional changes (the way we feel), as well as mental changes (the way we understand things). It is, therefore, very important for us to prepare ourselves for this transformation.

Islam for Beginners: What you wanted to ask but didn’t
By Mirza Yawar Baig
It has been said that true bankruptcy is a full belly and an empty soul. Religion must be a matter of conscious choice. Not a matter of accidental birth. Because on it depends on our peace of mind, how we view the world, our relationships with others, what choices we make and the results of those choices in this life and the Hereafter.

Rule of Time: A Different Look at the Values of Time by Said Nursi
By Yunus Çengel
Humanity goes through different phases of growth, just like individuals do, and progresses toward maturity. This progression, which started with savagery and continued with slavery, has settled in this age on individual rights and freedoms that put the individual at the center stage of justice. The prominent feature of this modern age of liberty is that freedom is the rule and any prohibition is the exception. Governments have been restructured to establish true justice and to uphold individual rights and freedoms in the broadest possible way, and the political systems have been transformed into democracies in which the public opinion, which is a reflection of the public will, dominates. Change has always met with resistance, often led by conservative and religious entities. Bediuzzaman Said Nursi, a scholar of Islam and a philanthropic opinion leader, on the other hand, has been at the forefront of change in accordance with the rising values and realities of his time, instead of being in opposition. While his contemporaries opposed even positive reforms in the name of religion, Nursi applauded such reforms in the name of the very same religion, Islam, and showed that piety and some modern values did not contradict.

The Messenger: Prophet Muhammad and His Life of Compassion
This book narrates the life of Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, shedding light upon segments of his life that are either neglected or glossed over in conflict-focused biographies. The narrations in this book revolve around the Prophet’s various strategies of diplomacy and reconciliation to avoid conflicts. In narrating these events, the book helps the readers broaden their perspective on the life of the Messenger of God and better capture the ethos of his life. Indeed, both Muslims and non-Muslims may benefit from this understanding at a time when violent extremist groups such as ISIS are causing carnage with their brutality while dressing their totalitarian ideologies in Muslim garb. The book exposes the hypocritical and willful deception of these radical groups which cherry-pick incidents and sayings from the Prophet’s life, decontextualize them, and abuse them to serve their perverted ideologies. The extensive evidence presented in this book will not only dispel many myths about the life and message of the Noble Prophet, but also show how through compassionate efforts he conquered the hearts of people around him and turned them from die-hard enemies to devoted faithful friends.

Islam and The Business Mind-Set
By Ilyas Salim
“In this day and age, reading is often limited to smartphones and Facebook posts, and not many people read large detailed books. I personally enjoy reading small, straight to the point books, where I can take action from bullet points. Hence, this book is designed to fill that gap in the market.”
