The Prophet’s Companions all recognized his superiority, yet he always remained humble and sincere towards all.

Umar Farooq (The Second Caliph of Islam)
Umar Farooq (ra), the second Caliph of Islam, ruled for about ten years over a total area of 2,251,030 square miles. His rule was exemplary, every decision and action of his being guided by the word of Allah, as enshrined in the Quran. It is difficult to imagine that any ruler who had a huge empire, like Umar Farooq’s(ra), would live like a simple, common man. But that is exactly what he did.
He wore clothes with many patches, slept on the floor, ate plain food and travelled to foreign lands with just one servant and a camel. Umar Farooq (ra) had a strong sense of duty and justice. Throughout his rule, everyone was treated equally and with justice, whether he was a Muslim or a non-Muslim. He lived in the love and fear of Allah. In the history of the world, there was and still is no other ruler like him: he was unique.
Umar Ibn Al-Khattab (The Age of Bliss)
The second caliph of the Muslims and a close Companion of the noble Prophet, Umar ibn al-Khattab, may Allah be pleased with him, strengthened Islam through his courage and actions. This book tells the story of Umar for young readers presenting his key achievements and milestones in his life.
Umar ibn al-Khattab wandered the streets at night to find people in need, he personally helped the poor and weak and was never tempted by the luxuries or wealth a leader could be expected to enjoy. Uthman ibn Affan was one of the Four Rightly-Guided Caliphs of the Muslim state. He was always the first to respond to the call for help. A wealthy merchant, he constantly donated his wealth, enlarging the Medina mosque, buying a well for the people, feeding and equipping the army and helping the poor and needy.

Ali Ibn Abi Talib (The Fourth Caliph of Islam)
Ali ibn Abi Talib, the cousin and son-in-law of the Prophet Muhammad, was also one of the members of the Prophet’s household. The Prophet took him into his care when he was only 5 years old and gave him an excellent upbringing. And from then onwards, he remained with the Prophet until he married the Prophet’s daughter Fatima after the migration to Madinah. In fact, he was so close to the Prophet that once the Prophet said to him, “You are of me, and I of you.”
This closeness, however, entailed great responsibility along with constantly being tested with trying situations. In the course of time, Ali became well-versed in Islamic knowledge, achieved profundity in religion and lived a life of deep realization and spirituality.
The Caliphs Abu Bakr, Umar and Uthman used regularly to consult him in matters of importance. After Uthman’s death, Ali was chosen to be the fourth Caliph of Islam. Ali loved and obeyed Allah and His Messenger so much that he was given the title of al-Murtada, or the one with whom Allah is pleased.
